Clear Facts

  • Director Tulsi Gabbard submitted criminal referrals to the Justice Department concerning a suspected conspiracy tied to the 2019 impeachment of Donald Trump.
  • Declassified records suggest Inspector General Michael Atkinson improperly handled a whistleblower complaint by relying on secondhand information and ignoring legal guidance.
  • The whistleblower allegedly failed to disclose prior coordination with House Democrats before officially submitting allegations of an urgent concern.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has formally requested that the Justice Department investigate deep state actors for their roles in the 2019 impeachment of President Donald Trump.

This move follows declassification of documents suggesting that the Intelligence Community IG improperly forwarded complaints based solely on secondhand claims.

Gabbard argued that these individuals manufactured a narrative to overturn the will of American voters.

She specifically cited the weaponization of the whistleblower process as an example of a deep state playbook designed to undermine a duly-elected president.

“Inspector General Atkinson failed to uphold his responsibility to the American people, putting political motivations over the truth.”

“And this, along with the politicization of the whistleblower process by a former CIA employee who was working hand in glove with Democrats in Congress, are egregious examples of the deep state playbook on how to weaponize the Intelligence Community,” Gabbard stated.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence highlighted that the whistleblower had ties to Joe Biden and traveled to Ukraine with him.

Critics argue these biases were intentionally shielded from the public during the initial impeachment proceedings to protect the accusations.

“Deep state actors within the Intelligence Community concocted a false narrative that was used by Congress to usurp the will of the American people and impeach the duly-elected President of the United States.”

“Exposing these tactics and showing how they undermine the fabric of our democratic republic furthers the critical cause of transparency and accountability and will help prevent future abuse of power,” the DNI concluded.

New evidence indicates the whistleblower admitted to lying about prior communications with congressional Democrats.

While the Justice Department previously declined to pursue charges, these new referrals provide a formal recommendation for a comprehensive criminal investigation.
