DOJ Exempts Schools Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports from Maine Lawsuit

Clear Facts
- The Department of Justice (DOJ) is exempting schools that comply with Trump’s executive order banning biological men from women’s sports from a lawsuit against Maine’s education department.
- Maine school board MSAD #70 voted unanimously to comply with the federal law, thus being exempt from the DOJ lawsuit.
- Democratic Governor Janet Mills has vowed to challenge the Trump administration’s enforcement of the executive order, risking federal funding for Maine’s schools.
In a significant move, the Department of Justice has decided to exempt schools that adhere to President Trump’s executive order, which bans biological men from participating in women’s sports, from its lawsuit against Maine’s education department. This decision comes in the wake of Maine’s failure to comply with the said order, leading to legal action.
One school board in Maine, MSAD #70, took a bold step by voting unanimously to defy the state’s governor and align with federal law. Attorney General Pam Bondi praised this decision, stating, “I think that was very brave and bold of that school board.”
She further emphasized the DOJ’s stance, “Again, that’s all we wanted was compliance, so, yes, we will not be going after them looking at them in this lawsuit because they are complying and they’re protecting women in women’s sports.”
The conflict escalated when Democratic Governor Janet Mills publicly declared her intent to challenge the Trump administration’s enforcement of the executive order. Her stance has prompted the U.S. Department of Education to launch an investigation into Maine’s education practices.
Following this, the federal department issued a final warning to the state, indicating that non-compliance would lead to the DOJ’s involvement. As a result, the DOJ announced its decision to withdraw all K-12 funding from Maine and proceed with legal action.
Republican Maine Representative Laurel Libby criticized the state’s leadership, stating, “Despite repeated warnings from President Trump, Gov. Janet Mills and Maine Democrats have continued to discriminate against Maine women and girls, prioritizing their woke ideology over biological reality.”
Libby further expressed concern over the potential consequences for Maine’s students and families, highlighting that the state’s actions could lead to the loss of significant federal funding. She warned, “Their radical gender ideology is endangering the continued existence of women’s sports and penalizing Maine students, against the will of Maine citizens.”

When I watched the Olympics, I saw this transgender man and it had a reach farther than the actual woman. To me that is not far. It should be banned from the Olympics.

Thoses pushing transgender in sports need some serious mental help. There’s a simple solution. Have thoses go form their own group, and compete against each other. And leave the politics out of it.
