Flight Attendant Survives Deadly Crash With Shocking Injuries

Clear Facts
- Flight attendant Solange Tremblay survived being thrown from an aircraft during a deadly runway collision at LaGuardia Airport.
- The accident occurred when a Jazz Aviation regional jet collided with a fire truck on March 22.
- Both pilots were killed in the crash, which remains under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
Solange Tremblay was found alive on the tarmac still strapped into her jump seat after the impact.
Aviation safety experts describe her survival as a total miracle given the level of destruction at the front of the aircraft.
Her daughter, Sarah Lepine, reports that Tremblay sustained life-altering injuries and remains in a New York hospital.
The veteran crew member faces a long recovery process involving multiple complex surgeries.
“My mom was conscious for all of this, and has sustained severe injuries from this event,” the fundraiser reads.
“She continues to fight and recover at a hospital in New York.”
“My mother’s injuries include two shattered legs (open fractures) requiring multiple surgeries where metal plates are needed to repair the damage done to her legs,” the statement continues.
“She sustained a fractured spine where she continues to wait and see if surgery is required.”
The flight attendant’s seat is a robust jump seat bolted to the cockpit wall.
Investigators noted these seats are designed to withstand high crash loads to ensure crew can assist passengers during emergencies.
“At the moment our greatest fear is the risk of infection which could lead to other horrifying complications if her injuries become infected,” Lepine added.
The NTSB is currently looking into conflicting information regarding ground control duties at the LaGuardia tower.
Dozens of passengers and emergency personnel were also injured in the tragic event.

My prayers go out to Solange Tremblay and her family. May God continue to watch over her and the medical personnel that attend her. If it be God’s will may her recovery be quick and full so she can resume her life and I pray she thanks God for this miracle.
