  • Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accused the Manhattan District Attorney of imposing a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety, citing his affiliation with liberal financier George Soros.
  • DeSantis refused to get involved in the “political spectacle” and stated he will focus on his own state.

On Saturday, former President Donald Trump announced that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. The potential indictment relates to a years-long investigation into whether Trump paid hush money to former porn star actress Stormy Daniels.

According to Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, he sent $130,000 to Daniels so she would not disclose her alleged affair with Trump. Cohen claims Trump then reimbursed him for the payments, with authorities investigating whether Trump forged business records to hide the alleged payout.

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis broke his silence on the issue on Monday, accusing the Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, of imposing a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety.

DeSantis cited Bragg’s affiliation with liberal financier George Soros, claiming that “Soros-funded prosecutors weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society.”

He further accused Bragg of ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction, and instead choosing to pursue a politically-motivated case about porn star hush money payments.

“I think that’s fundamentally wrong,” DeSantis continued, before again turning his attention to Soros’ involvement in helping elect liberal prosecutors. “These Soros district attorneys are a menace to society,” he added.

Despite his criticism of the Manhattan District Attorney and his affiliation with Soros, DeSantis refused to get involved in the “political spectacle” and stated he will focus on his own state.

In conclusion, the potential indictment of former President Donald Trump related to paying hush money to Stormy Daniels has drawn criticism from Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who accused the Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, of imposing a political agenda on society.

DeSantis cited Bragg’s affiliation with liberal financier George Soros as evidence of this, but refused to get involved in the case, stating he will focus on his own state.
