Former CIA official: Documents “mishandled” by Trump were “vulnerable” to spies [Video]

Former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell expressed security concerns about classified documents being “mishandled” by former President Donald Trump, warning that such information may been “vulnerable” to spies.
On August 8, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. The agents seized 20 boxes containing classified documents that Trump allegedly took from the White House before leaving office in January 2021. Security experts raised concerns about the vulnerability of classified information not being stored properly.
According to Morell, who served as the second-highest ranking official for the Central Intelligence Agency from 2010 to 2013, the documents would have been vulnerable to spies and adversaries, perhaps even before being transferred to the Florida estate.
During an interview with CBS News‘ ‘Face the Nation,’ Morell said, “So, I think they were vulnerable, even at the White House, since they seem to have been mishandled at the White House as well, right? We have to look at that, as well as Mar-a-Lago.”
Morell revealed that at any given point in time, there is an average of four Americans spying for foreign countries without the knowledge of U.S. officials. He said there might be even more who never get caught.
The former CIA official said, “So, there’s a lot of spying going on in Washington, right? And if you’re a foreign intelligence service, and you want to target the United States government, what’s the number one place you want to target? The White House.”
Morell raised concerns on whether people at Mar-a-Lago or White House staff who did not have a top-secret clearance might have accessed classified documents. He called on investigators to look into the matter.
Morell said that he became concerned when he read the heavily-redacted search affidavit released on Friday. He remarked, “These documents were mixed in with unclassified documents. You had classified documents in the vast majority of the boxes. That suggested to me a sloppiness in the handling of classified documents at the White House.”
It’s still unclear what information were contained in the boxes. Concerns have been raised on whether information on nuclear weapons were among those included. According to the affidavit released on Friday, the FBI discovered over 100 classified documents in Mar-a-Lago.
Morell pointed out that handling such classified information required “very rigorous and strict protocols,” speaking on his experience working with the CIA under former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

I’m a little confused why the opinion of a former CIA director who was never in the white house during Trump’s presidency even matters. It’s purely conjecture and opinion if he has no first hand knowledge of the actual documents. Better to ask him about Hillary during Obama’s presidency.

What a total load of BS. Anything there that should not have been was planted by the crooks who raided the home of Mr. Trump. He gave access and opened his house and without any legal reason they tore the place apart for NINE HOURS doing WHAT. Just think for one minute over 30 people for NINE hours claiming there was something there. REALLY. No supervision allowed for NINE hours; Just think what could have been done in NINE hours and we are meant to believe these corrupt lying so called AGENTS? I believe they actually wanted the “Cross Fire Hurricane’ Files which had hundreds of pages. when they could not find the file they then asked BIDEN the corrupt to reclassify the file thinking that would negate Trumps ability to have the file which was marked TOP SECRET. Why you may ask; because the Senate had been asking for the complete file for over three years. Only to be given the file with so much REDACTIONS it meant nothing I believe prior to Trump leaving the WH he obtained the file and immediately declassified it. Now if opened to the public everyone from Clinton (WHO PAID FOR THE FAKE REPORT) to Obama and yes Biden him self would be implicated. So yes they want the file and its contents kept hidden with redactions. the file should be made public to show the WORLD just how corrupt the seventh floor of our FBI and DOJ are.

Everything in former President Trumps life is so ruined by Leftist Liberal Twerps headed up by a man who obviously has Dementia and is ghost running the country and other parts of the world with Obama in back producing the lack of reason for so many major decisions. I feel so sad to lose faith in the FBI and CIA. I hope the employees lead in making at least both of those agencies better. The highest Leaders in both agencies were the ruination of their Agency. Most of us remember when not too long ago, employees of FBI and CIA did not know the Political Party of their Leadership OR Co-workers. Such a difference and it is causing a horrible Swamp with equal Odors. One more thing: Why did Hillary, not a President, get total free reign with Top Secret Documents that were never even hers to have in the White House – she, as lowly Secretary of State had them shipped (?with security/permission) and the printer to her ?bathroom on her “estate” in NY where, as soon as she would leave, the guards would allow former President Bill Clinton’s girlfriend brigade to enter the premises.
