Former Congresswoman Levels Harsh Truth About Washington’s Dysfunction

Clear Facts

  • Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized both political parties on X, claiming Washington delivers the same results regardless of which party controls Congress
  • Greene pointed to rising debt, foreign wars, increasing cost of living, and shrinking dollar value as evidence of bipartisan failure
  • Her comments come amid the 2026 midterm election cycle that will determine control of Congress

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene delivered a scathing assessment of Washington’s political establishment in a Monday post on X, arguing that partisan control makes little difference in the outcomes Americans experience. “Nothing ever changes in Washington. No matter which party is in charge,” Greene wrote.

“You still get a bigger debt. You still get foreign wars and you pay for them. Your cost of living still increases and the value of the dollar continues to shrink.”

Greene went further, suggesting that supporting either major party has proven a poor investment for everyday Americans.

“Voting for both Democrats and Republicans is the worst ROI for the American people.”

The critique arrives as the 2026 midterm election cycle heats up, with Republicans defending their majorities in both the House and Senate. Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment on Tuesday.

Greene, once a steadfast ally of President Donald Trump, resigned from Congress earlier this year following a public split with the president. The rupture became public when Greene posted “25th AMENDMENT!!!” on April 7 in response to Trump’s forceful rhetoric regarding Iran.

The president had posted on Truth Social a warning to Iran stating that “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” Trump ultimately announced a ceasefire and did not follow through on the threat.

In the special election runoff to fill Greene’s vacated seat, Trump-backed Republican Clay Fuller secured victory on April 7. The president celebrated Fuller’s win while delivering harsh criticism of his former ally in an April 8 Truth Social post.

“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown’s (GREEN TURNS TO BROWN UNDER STRESS!) seat in Congress has been taken over by a wonderful and talented man, Clay Fuller, who won convincingly, and right from the beginning, despite many people running for that ‘TRUMP’ +37 seat, and despite the stench left by Greene. Congratulations to Clay Fuller, a very large improvement over his deranged predecessor!”

Greene’s broader criticism of Washington’s political establishment touches on concerns shared by many conservative voters—mounting national debt, endless foreign military engagements, declining purchasing power, and a political class that appears more invested in maintaining power than delivering results for American families.
