WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Last weekend, a plane was spotted roaming near the area of the Mar-a-Lago resort where former President Donald Trump is currently staying.
  • The plane had banners that say “Trump worst president ever” and “Trump you pathetic loser go back to Moscow.”
  • Members of the club and other neighbors were “dispirited” following Trump’s presence in the community.

A plane with insulting banners against former President Donald Trump was spotted over the weekend as it flew near the Mar-a-Lago resort at Palm Beach in Florida. Trump is currently residing at the beach club after leaving the White House last week.

A lawyer named Daniel Uhfelder has published the banner photos on Twitter.

One banner showed: “Trump worst president ever,” and the other one wrote: “Trump you pathetic loser go back to Moscow,” according to TMZ.

Nobody has claimed responsibility for the deed.

Trump was seen golfing over the weekend at the resort. The author of Mar-a-Lago: Inside the Gates of Power at Donald Trump’s Presidential Palace Laurence Leamer, described the vicinity’s mood as “dispirited” following Trump’s move-in.

In his interview with MSNBC on Saturday, Leamer said that well-known club members were worried about potentially getting featured in newspaper reports because of the former president’s situation, as he faces several legal battles both as a businessman and as a government official.

“A lot of people have quit Mar-a-Lago… It’s a sad place for Trump to be hanging out,” Leamer noted.

Some of the former president’s neighbors were also dismayed about the thought of him living at Mar-a-Lago for the rest of his life.

The Washington Post reported that last year, some members of the community issued a letter to Palm Beach officials and the US Secret Service, saying that it is not legal for Trump to live at the resort. The plea referred to a legal precedent where Trump signed an agreement in 1993 which transformed the residence into becoming a club.

The stunt was similar to an incident in 2018 where a paraglider showed up at the sky in Turnberry golf resort when Trump visited Scotland. The man held a banner that wrote: “Trump: well below par #resist.”
