Controversial liberal streamer Hasan Piker endorsed Maine Governor Janet Mills over Graham Platner in the Democratic Senate primary.
Platner, a former Marine supported by Bernie Sanders, has faced scrutiny for a tattoo resembling a Nazi SS symbol.
Piker used his platform to read viewer objections regarding Platner’s background and current candidacy.
“He hasn’t properly renounced his [military] service. He hasn’t condemned Blackwater. He has Nazi ink,” Piker read.
The streamer said his support for Governor Mills is based on her established track record within the party.
“This is precisely the reason why I am riding with Janet Mills, who has a track record that is clear,” Piker said. “Janet Mills all the way.”
Piker’s influence persists despite accusations of antisemitism and criticism over his past remarks.
During a visit to China, the streamer told his audience that he had essentially changed his national identity.
“In my heart, in my soul, in my mind, in my conscience, I have already become Chinese, okay?” Piker proclaimed.
