Clear Facts

  • President-elect Trump is prioritizing loyalty and alignment with his MAGA and America First agenda as he assembles his second administration.
  • Trump has selected allies such as Matt Gaetz, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard for key positions in his administration.
  • Trump is excluding those he perceives as disloyal, such as Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo, from his new administration.

As President-elect Trump gears up for his second term, he is taking a bold approach by filling his administration with staunch supporters of his MAGA movement and America First agenda. This time around, Trump is emphasizing loyalty above all else, making provocative choices for his cabinet that reflect his commitment to his core principles.

One of the most notable selections is Rep. Matt Gaetz as the nominee for attorney general. Gaetz, a controversial conservative from Florida, has been a vocal defender of Trump, often dismissing the investigations against the former president as “witch hunts.” Trump praised Gaetz’s efforts, stating, “Matt played a key role in defeating the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, and exposing alarming and systemic Government Corruption and Weaponization.”

In a move that surprised many, Gaetz resigned from Congress amid an impending House Ethics Committee report on sexual misconduct allegations, which he has denied.

Trump also announced Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his choice for Health and Human Services Secretary. Kennedy, who became a strong advocate for Trump after suspending his own presidential campaign, is focused on plans to “Make America Healthy Again.” Trump expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).”

Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic presidential candidate who has since embraced the MAGA movement, was selected as Director of National Intelligence. Gabbard’s transition to the Republican Party and her role as a top campaign surrogate for Trump highlight her alignment with his vision.

In another strategic move, Trump tapped Pete Hegseth, a combat veteran, as Defense Secretary. Hegseth’s unwavering support for Trump makes him a fitting choice for the role.

Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York has been nominated as ambassador to the United Nations. Trump described her as “a strong and very smart America First fighter,” underscoring her early endorsement and steadfast advocacy for his policies.

Further solidifying his team, Trump chose former Rep. Lee Zeldin as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, calling him “a true fighter for America First policies.” South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, known for her strong conservative stance, is set to become Homeland Security Secretary. She will work closely with Stephen Miller, the architect of Trump’s hardline immigration policies, and Thomas Homan, the incoming “border czar.”

Rounding out his key appointments, Trump named Sen. Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and Rep. Michael Waltz as national security adviser. Both have proven their loyalty and support for Trump’s agenda over the years.

Dan Eberhart, a prominent Republican donor, noted that Trump is in a stronger position than during his first term. “He’s got a stronger mandate because he won the popular vote, and he won all seven swing states,” Eberhart emphasized.

A strategist close to Trump highlighted the cohesive nature of the new team, stating, “Trump is largely bringing people on who are aligned with his America First agenda.”

However, those who have not demonstrated loyalty to Trump, such as Nikki Haley and Mike Pompeo, are being excluded from his administration. Despite endorsing Trump after the primaries, they are not being considered for roles in the new cabinet.

In a social media post, Trump made it clear that he is not interested in providing a platform for potential future presidential contenders, except for JD Vance. This decision underscores Trump’s focus on loyalty and alignment with his vision for the country.
