Trump sues CNN for $475M, accuses network of defamation

Former President Donald Trump on Monday filed a defamation lawsuit against CNN. Trump, who is seeking $475 million in damages, accused the network of defaming him in an effort to “defeat him politically.”
Trump’s lawyers filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As per court documents, the suit primarily focuses on the term “The Big Lie” referring to the former president’s claims of voter fraud. Trump has repeatedly stated that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him.
CNN has not issued a statement on the lawsuit as of this writing.
While in office, Trump has repeatedly attacked CNN, which resonated with his conservative followers. Similarly, Trump has also filed lawsuits against big tech companies with little success.
Last year, he sued Google, Twitter and Facebook, claiming that he is the victim of censorship. Twitter permanently banned him from its platform following the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol attack. The suit was thrown out by a California judge earlier this year.
Numerous federal and local election officials from both the GOP and Democratic Party, a long list of courts, top former campaign staffers and even the former president’s own attorney general have all said there is no evidence of the election fraud he alleges.
Trump’s suit claims CNN has used “The Big Lie” in reference to him more than 7,700 times since January 2021.
“It is intended to aggravate, scare and trigger people,” he said.
Additionally, the suit also says that CNN’s reporting has “consistently fed a narrative to denounce” Trump’s “legitimacy and competency.”
Trump suggested Monday that similar lawsuits would follow against other media organizations. He also threatens to bring “appropriate action” against the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 US Capitol attack.
“By comparing the Plaintiff to violent dictators and repeatedly using inflammatory language, such as “Trump’s big lie,” CNN knowingly made false and defamatory statements about the Plaintiff, or at the very least, made those statements with reckless disregard for their truth or falsity, thereby acting with actual malice,” court documents show.

What more evidence does one need to ascertain that the 2020 election for POTUS was rigged and ultimately stolen? Besides all the Democrat poll workers in the strategic “swing” States, there was one Eric Coomer, a hot shot executive with Dominion Voting Systems, who stated in an interview with OANN that he made f***ing sure that Trump did not win the election. Now how was this accomplished unless the voting machines utilized (which were programmed and provided by Dominion, of course) were not tampered with in advance? Add this to all the paper ballot chicanery, and it’s a perfect recipe for a fraudulent election! “There are none so DEAF as they who will not HEAR, nor none so BLIND as they who will not SEE!”
