Investigators have issued more than a dozen subpoenas to her family members as they examine the accuracy of immigration paperwork. The scrutiny centers on whether Omar was listed as 17 years old on her citizenship application, which would have made her eligible for automatic citizenship through her father’s naturalization.

Omar’s office has denied any wrongdoing and accused the Trump administration of weaponizing federal law enforcement. Her statement claimed that the raid represents an escalation of political attacks against her.

“My wife came here when she was 12 years old as a child war refugee,” Omar’s husband Tim Mynett told Fox News Digital. “No concerns.”

Authorities are also examining paperwork submitted by Omar’s late father, Nur Omar Mohamed, regarding his own application to enter the United States. The investigation seeks to determine whether statements on his filings were untruthful.

“For a decade, Donald Trump has relentlessly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with inflammatory rhetoric, repeatedly putting a target on her back,” her office stated. “Now, those attacks have escalated to a pointless federal raid.”
