Democrats Embrace Foreign Values That Undermine American Women

Election 2026 has multiple storylines, but one of the more disturbing is the Left’s rejection of Western values and embrace of something fundamentally different. The party that once claimed to champion women’s rights now promotes a vision that would roll back decades of progress.

Democrat Senator Jon Ossoff’s carefully scripted attack on cancer survivor Natalie Harp, the president’s assistant, represents just the latest example. By intentionally implying an inappropriate relationship, Ossoff demonstrated the Left’s willingness to weaponize misogyny when politically convenient.

Before that, New York Times writer Jodi Kantor—one of the most aggressive MeToo advocates—excused and downplayed the behavior of Maine’s Graham Platner. Then came the absurdity of the Abdul El-Sayed pool party surrounded by fashion-obsessed influencers, including Hasan Piker, while his wife couldn’t even wear a swimsuit.

From Platner to El-Sayed to Ossoff, there is a decidedly Middle Eastern tone to these supposedly masculine progressives: Rape doesn’t really exist as they define it. Your wife can’t wear a swimsuit to a pool party, but the man of the house can hang with influencers who do. Women can now be slut-shamed for having high-profile jobs—how unwomanly, they suggest.

It’s a particular kind of misogyny, different from the kind that came before. Instead of the cheap variety exemplified by Time magazine reporter Nina Burleigh—who once said of Bill Clinton she’d perform oral sex on him “just to thank him for keeping abortion legal”—this represents an attitude straight out of Michel Houellebecq’s prophetic novel Submission. The message: Sure, at first that restrictive outfit was a protest, but what if you learned to love it?

Consider it a MeToo aftershock, running parallel to American men increasingly seeking foreign-born women. The Left, having embraced the role of self-appointed Moral Majority, now openly advocates for female subjugation notably at odds with Western understanding of modern gender roles. It’s as if the lesson they took from their precipitous loss of young male voters was to Eat Pray Love their way into a burkini.

This goes beyond the excuse-making, slut-shaming, and partisan talking points of the past. Those have existed since James Carville’s comment about dragging a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park. The Pod Save Bros—ever the willing supplicants to this ideology—are happy to carry the legacy forward in its perverted form today.

This isn’t just craven politics; it’s a fundamental break with modern America. It represents a direct descendant of pathologizing normal relationships, especially men’s roles in those relationships. The Right has embraced traditional values with faith and family at the center, so here comes the Left’s reaction with an entirely different crescent and star.

From the Left’s perspective today, if a man forces a woman into sex, well, you must understand his war-weary PTSD. If women are forced to wear the hijab, well, that’s just their culture, which you must respect. If a woman advances in her political career, well, she must have slept her way to the top. Meet the new Man of the Left, avatar of this old-made-new alliance. And he can’t be sexist—he claims immunity through identity politics.

Their vision for the country becomes clearer: a spiral minaret atop a Planned Parenthood, a sign welcoming all refugees, all funded by the tech billionaire awaiting the guillotine in the town square. Progressive ideology meets regressive social values in a marriage nobody asked for.

The Left’s broken compass points in this direction, leading Democrats to occupy space previously avoided because it was anti-Western and anti-American. When guardrails are removed in a desperate bid for power, self-importance, or influence, this becomes the destructive path forward.

American women deserve better than this backwards vision. They deserve leaders who actually defend their freedoms rather than politicians who would trade Western values for foreign approval and political expediency.
