A former security staffer for the Biden White House now faces involuntary manslaughter charges following a tragic shooting in San Francisco.

Nation Wood allegedly fired a handgun through a wall, striking and killing his girlfriend, Samantha Emge, inside their shared apartment.

Wood told investigators he believed the firearm was empty when he pulled the trigger.

District Attorney Brooke Jenkins noted that the investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is still in its early stages.

“This is a very fresh investigation,” Jenkins said.

“While I understand some facts have come out, we are just beginning to determine everything that took place in that apartment that night.”

The suspect previously shared images of himself with then-Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband during an international summit.

While Wood performed part-time security duties for the White House, the Secret Service confirmed he was never a member of their agency.

A judge set Wood’s bail at $300,000 during a recent arraignment.

If he posts bond, he will be subject to electronic monitoring and travel restrictions until his next court appearance.

Emge was a recent college graduate who had begun a career at a local design firm before her life was cut short.

Authorities confirmed that only Wood and Emge were present in the apartment at the time of the discharge.
