Judge Upholds Texas Sentence for Exploitation Ringleader

Bradley Cadenhead, sentenced in May 2023 for creating and running a network targeting children, failed to overturn his conviction.

The U.S. District Judge labeled Cadenhead’s appeal a repeat of a prior, unsuccessful legal challenge and found no valid grounds for relief.

“Is essentially a rehash of his state-level appeal that was dismissed in November 2023 because it was without legal or factual merit,” Judge Mark Pittman stated.

Cadenhead started the group on Discord at age 15, with the FBI identifying it as an extreme and dangerous network bent on societal destruction.

Court records document the group’s promotion of self-harm, sexual exploitation, and violent acts among minors.

The defense argued Cadenhead’s background included bullying and a troubled childhood, but this failed to sway the court.

“By putting [Cadenhead’s] crime into the perspective of a lonely, abused teenager attempting to get attention, [the psychologist] would have been able to explain the offense conduct in a more sympathetic manner,” an attorney said to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in November 2024.

Despite arguments for lenient treatment, the prosecution stressed the disturbing nature of Cadenhead’s offense and warned against any chance of parole.

“THIS DEFENDANT IS DANGEROUS,” District Attorney M. Alan Nash cautioned in official documents outlining the severity of the material discovered.

Cadenhead admitted he was inspired by another illicit online group, further confirming the calculated nature of his crimes in court records.

Unless you’re going to order forced medication, you can’t make people take any meds they don’t want to. And someone this evil has no business being out and amongst the public, especially children.
