The Trump administration’s new phase for Gaza seeks to transition from ceasefire to security and reconstruction, with U.S. officials warning Hamas to comply with all terms swiftly.

Families of hostages and Israelis near Gaza are requesting all hostages be brought home before any further steps are taken.

“The U.S. expects Hamas to comply fully with its obligations, including the immediate return of the final deceased hostage,” Special Envoy Steve Witkoff stated.

President Trump celebrated what he called “RECORD LEVELS” of humanitarian aid reaching civilians in Gaza since the ceasefire.

Trump declared the start of the next phase would rely on a new technocratic Palestinian government, overseen by a transitional international board.

“The people of Gaza have suffered long enough. The time is NOW. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH,” Trump wrote.

French ambassador Jérôme Bonnafont called the ceasefire an “incredible achievement” and said phase two aims for peace without Hamas.

He noted, “That would help disarm Hamas, and that will help the Palestinian Authority return and democratically restart the management of Gaza as part of the Palestinian territory.”

Bonnafont affirmed France prioritizes Israel’s security, particularly against Iranian threats.

He explained France supports a demilitarized, peaceful Palestinian state for lasting security.

The United Nations welcomed the phase two announcement as “an important step” but urged respect for international law and resolutions.
