WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • President Joe Biden on Monday defended the remarks he made in Poland, saying ‘Putin cannot remain in power.’
  • Biden said he’s not apologizing for it but denied that he was seeking a “regime change” in Russia.
  • The Kremlin, however, is not impressed with Biden’s “personal insults.”

President Joe Biden on Monday defended the unscripted remarks he made over the weekend in Poland. At the end of his speech, he said that Russian President Vladimir Putin“cannot remain in power.”,

Biden’s adlib had made the White House scrambling to play down the comment to prevent global criticism.

On Sunday, Biden denied that he was seeking “regime change” in Russia.

The president said Monday he is “not walking anything back,” referring to his Saturday remarks. Biden was with the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Shalanda Young at a White House event to present the 2023 budget proposals.

He reiterated that he was not calling for regime change but was only expressing only his “moral outrage” at the “brutality” of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Hours before making that remark, Biden visited some of the refugees in Poland who have fled Ukraine and called Putin a “butcher.”

“I was expressing the moral outrage I felt … I had just come from being with those families. But I want to be clear that I wasn’t then, nor am I now, articulating a policy change,” he said. “I make no apologies for it.”

Putin’s attack on Ukraine is “totally unacceptable,” said Biden. He explained that his comment does not compromise diplomatic efforts by the US and European allies to end the war in a peaceful manner.

Negotiators from Ukraine and Russia resume talks on Tuesday in Turkey.

French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday warned against inflammatory words after Biden’s remark. He said that to achieve a ceasefire, “we can’t escalate in either words or actions.”

The U.K. also distanced itself from Biden’s comments.

The Kremlin said the “personal insults” further undermined relations between the US and Russia, according to The Guardian.

Biden on Monday said he was not worried that his comments could exacerbate the situation and escalate into a broader European war.

“Nobody believes I was talking about taking down Putin … nobody believes that,” he said. “I was expressing my outrage at the behavior of this man.”

Biden reiterated that Putin “should not remain in power” but recognized that “bad people” can still hold on to their positions despite their conduct.

Brain Dead Biden defends comment. So what makes Senator Grahams comment any different? That’s exactly right Lying Corrupt Quid Pro KING Joe. Putin shouldn’t remain in power and neither should Corrupt Quid Pro. After watching Corrupt Quid Pro’s pullout of Afghanistan, Putin already knew that Corrupt Quid Pro has a few screws lose and is a coward. Putin destroys the Ukraine and Corrupt Quid Pro destroys America. Giving Ukraine the Polish MIGS is not going to escalate the war, which was squashed by Brain Dead. Give Ukraine the MIGS, Ukraine will institute their own fly zone. Ukrainians are fighting for their homeland and this phony leader of the free world, refuses to give the Ukrainians what they need to drive the Russians back to Russia. Putin is not going to use nukes, and he won’t use them against the U.S. Even Putin knows reality, that Moscow could be turned into a parking lot for a future Walmart. America should be more worried about Russia negotiating a fraudulent nuke deal on behalf of America. Not only will Israel get thrown under the bus, if Iran gets a nuke, America won’t have to worry about Communist China or Russia nuking the U.S. communist China and Russia will get Iran to do their dirty work. Besides if America gets nuked, who is going to buy all the TV’s and Microwaves from Communist China.
