FBI confiscates ‘US Capitol Building Lego set’ from indicted Capitol rioter [Video]

• The FBI seized “militia-oriented” stuff from a January 6 Capitol rioter named Robert Morss.
• Morss was allegedly a leader of the pro-Trump mob who attacked the legislative house on January 6.
• Morss was arrested and indicted for nine criminal counts in accordance with his involvement during the January 6 Capitol riot.

FBI agents seized a “fully constructed US Capitol Lego set” from a Pennsylvania man who was indicted last month over his alleged leadership during the infamous January 6 US Capitol riot, per court records. Agents also confiscated a notebook from him, which obtained procedures on creating a “hometown militia.”

Robert Morss, 27, was charged by prosecutors for inciting violence during “one of the most intense and prolonged clashes” with the Capitol police as the pro-Trump mob attempted to penetrate the legislative building and halt then President-elect Joe Biden’s certification.

Equipped with a tactical gear and ‘MAGA’ hat, Morss allegedly split a shield from an officer and used it on the latter part of the riot as a “shield wall” to “crush officers in the rioters’ path,” per the court documents.

Based on video footage, rioters were yelling “Heave, ho!” as they crushed MPD officer Daniel Hodges on a door in a bid to get past him to enter the Capitol. Hodges was screaming in pain while one rioter forcibly stole his gas mask and baton which was used against him.

Morss tried to trespass the Capitol through the Lower West Terrace entrance, then later climbed into a window to get inside the building.

Federal agents “recovered a fully constructed US Capitol Lego set,” upon raiding Morss’ residence in suburban Pittsburgh. In a July 2 motion, government lawyers also noted that agents discovered a notebook in his car with writings such as “‘Step by Step To Create Hometown Militia.’”

In the notes, there were instructions on how to commit an “Ambush” as well as “Battle Drills.” There were also reminders like “Bring Assault Rifle” and “4 Magazines.”

Authorities were also able to seize some clothing and other stuff which Morss had used during the riot, including a black tourniquet, a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag, military fatigues, and a utility bag. Based on the detention motion, he also had “three different firearms including a handgun, a shotgun, and a rifle.” 

The court filing did not disclose if authorities ruled that Morss used the lego set to prepare for the January 6 illegal invasion.

According to federal prosecutors, Morss was indicted on nine criminal counts in relation to his direct involvement in the January 6 violence. He was “prepared for violence and then repeatedly led the violent mob attacking” the police.

Morss remains detained as prosecutors have sought to proceed with his pretrial custody since he is considered a threat to safety.
