Fetterman Challenges Democrats on Los Angeles Riot Silence

Clear Facts
- Senator John Fetterman criticized fellow Democrats for not condemning the riots in Los Angeles following an ICE raid.
- President Trump deployed the National Guard to restore order after significant unrest and damage in the city.
- California officials filed a lawsuit against the federal government over the deployment of National Guard troops.
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has openly criticized his party for their silence regarding the violent riots that erupted in Los Angeles after an ICE raid. He expressed his disappointment on social media, emphasizing that the Democratic Party’s failure to denounce the chaos jeopardizes its moral standing.
“I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that. This is anarchy and true chaos,” Fetterman stated. He further argued that the party loses its “moral high ground” by not condemning acts like setting cars on fire and attacking law enforcement.
The unrest in Los Angeles prompted President Donald Trump to deploy the National Guard on Saturday. The decision came after a night of chaos where approximately 1,000 individuals caused significant disruption, including vandalizing government property and halting traffic on major city roads.
In response to the federal intervention, California filed a lawsuit on Monday. Attorney General Rob Bonta and Governor Gavin Newsom argued that the federalization of 2,000 National Guard members without state consent was beyond the president’s authority.
Some Democrats have voiced opposition to the deployment. Representative Linda Sanchez labeled it as “authoritarian flexing,” suggesting it did not enhance public safety. Meanwhile, Representative Maxine Waters disputed claims of violence, despite evidence of significant unrest.
“Well, I was surprised at the way that the police chief was describing all of this,” Waters commented. She downplayed the events, asserting, “There had been no violence where anybody that was protesting hit anybody, shot anybody, threatened anybody.” Waters suggested the police chief might be struggling due to Los Angeles’ status as a sanctuary city.

Well, if the democrats in charge don’t want any help, let the protesters destroy their perfect city.

Fetterman can pretend all he wants but the fact remains that a skunk can’t change its stripes. He is still a democrat and always will be.

Like him or not, Fetterman has at times demonstrated a little common sense on some issues. That alone sets him apart from the
average democrat senator.

Maxine Waters is another DC person who is not in touch with the real world.
