A radical student group at one of New York City’s most selective public high schools is drawing sharp criticism after endorsing a call for “Intifada Until Victory.” The post has reignited concerns about antisemitism in city schools and prompted demands for clear answers from administrators.

The Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at Manhattan’s Stuyvesant High School shared the statement on Instagram. It was posted one day after the third anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attacks that murdered over 1,200 people, including American citizens.

“This is not okay,” Michelle Ahdoot said.

Ahdoot, director of the Jewish advocacy group #EndJewHatred, urged the public to hold school officials accountable for the student group’s involvement.

The group is also calling on New York City Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels to address the matter directly. The statement was co-signed by several city college DSA chapters, including Hunter College, the New School, City College, and Lehman College.

“NYC-DSA was not involved in the planning or development of this post,” NYC-DSA co-chair Grace Mausser told Fox News Digital.

“We also condemn attempts to attack high school students for political reasons,” Mausser added.

The statement accused New York City DSA of attempting to silence students protesting Mayor Zohran Mamdani over his stance on Israel. It also criticized Mamdani for retaining NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, whom the signers described as a “Zionist billionaire.”

But the phrase “Intifada Until Victory” has drawn the strongest reaction. “Intifada” refers to Palestinian uprisings against Israel, including the Second Intifada, during which suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks killed over a thousand Israeli civilians and wounded thousands more, according to the ADL. Many Jews view the term as a direct call for violence.

“Intifada invokes Palestinian uprisings that included suicide bombings and deliberate attacks on civilians,” Ahdoot said. “In this context, ‘INTIFADA UNTIL VICTORY!’ is a call for violence against Jews and has NO place in a public school community.”

The episode has raised fresh questions about oversight of the YDSA chapter at Stuyvesant, its relationship with school administrators, and what steps officials will take to protect Jewish students from antisemitic activity. This comes after previous reports of antisemitic graffiti found in school bathrooms in May 2025.

An August 2026 report by United Jewish Teachers documented 250 antisemitic and anti-Israel incidents in New York City public schools between October 2023 and July 2026, with nearly 65 percent involving direct acts such as harassment, vandalism, assaults, or threats.

“The silence from the NYCDOE chancellor, school and central admin and BOE officials is, frankly, deafening,” Ahdoot said. “The lack of immediate action and acknowledgment of the Jewish community’s concerns points to the sheer lack of care and urgency when it comes to Jewish civil rights.”

“Students deserve a learning environment free from Jew-hatred, and families deserve to know that school leadership takes their concerns seriously!” she said.

“Let’s apply public pressure to ensure that this situation gets the attention it needs and deserves.”
