In a recent discussion, Mark Penn, who once served as a pollster for Clinton, expressed concerns over the potential consequences for the Democratic Party if Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez decides to challenge Senator Chuck Schumer in 2028.
Penn highlighted the party’s current predicament, noting that its favorability has plummeted to an unprecedented 29%, as revealed by a recent poll conducted in early March.
Penn stated, “I don’t think she’s going to challenge Schumer, but if she does, I mean, already the Democratic ratings are down to 29%. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
This decline suggests that while the party retains its left-leaning base, moderates are increasingly distancing themselves.
Penn further warned, “So AOC taking off Schumer, wow, that could finish this party off. This could put it into the wilderness the way the Labour Party was for a decade.”
Senator Schumer, who also serves as the Senate minority leader, has faced criticism from within his party, particularly regarding his support for a government funding bill aimed at preventing a partial shutdown.
Ocasio-Cortez has voiced her opinion on Schumer’s tenure, stating, “Schumer has been in politics for a long time, and I would hope that this is his final term, and he opens it up for someone new.”
The idea of Ocasio-Cortez running against Schumer has gained traction, with Democratic California Rep. Ro Khanna publicly encouraging her to consider a primary challenge in 2028.
Additionally, some House Democrats have reportedly urged her to make a bid during a recent party retreat.
Democratic strategist James Carville also weighed in, predicting potential unrest within the party if Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries do not deliver results soon.
Carville commented, “I think he and Leader Jeffries do have a plan in place. And look, if this is not evident here in the next three or four months, then there will be a uprising within the Democratic Party.”
Meanwhile, Schumer has outlined the party’s strategy, emphasizing the need to counter former President Trump’s influence.
He explained, “We are fighting on all of the fronts to go after Trump, not have a circular firing squad, which Democrats tend to do, particularly when there’s such an enemy as Trump.”
Trump’s approval ratings have reached 47%, matching the highest point of his terms, according to a recent poll.

and how many TERMS is aoc going to be in the government, career politician, another lifer in the government,
that needs to stop, TERM LIMITS and aoc is going on her 4th term enough is enough,
already started using taxpayers money for her personnel use, and as time goes on she’ll be like the rest we are trying to get rid of the lifers ending up with billions

Trump, Elon Musk, and Vance are taking apart our Federal Government as fast as they can. Why is Congress not doing anything to stop it? Hooray for the judges who are taking action to stop some of it but Trump seems to be encouraging MAGA people to personally go after the judges who are using the rule of Law and fortitude.

AOC, much like the black messiah came from nowhere to make her mark on society. She is part and parcel of the efforts to destroy America. She is a nobody who became somebody and needs to be put in her place. She and old man Bernie should be in DC, instead of roaming the country sprouting their stupid ideas. If the left continues to pay people to attend their rallies, that is all it will be, otherwise nobody would show up.
