Matt Gaetz wins his GOP primary despite sex trafficking investigation

Rep. Matt Gaetz won his Republican primary on Tuesday despite being under federal investigation for alleged sex trafficking in the past two years. The Florida congressman is likely to serve another term representing one of the most conservative congressional districts.
Gaetz beat Greg Merk, a Vietnam War veteran and former FedEx executive Mark Lombardo, who had focused his campaign attacking Gaetz and even suggested that Gaetz is the FBI Mar-a-Lago raid informant.
The Justice Department has been investigating Gaetz for allegedly recruiting women online for sex and paying them. Reports say one of the women he hired was only 17 at the time. Gaetz has denied ever paying a woman for sex, and no indictments have been disclosed.
The news broke out in April 2021, after the arrest of a former tax collector, Joel Greenberg, on a sex trafficking charge.
Such revelations could sink anyone’s political career, but Gaetz has used the exposure to seal his pro-Donald Trump credentials in his party. He was rewarded by getting the former president’s endorsement, saying Gaetz would “Fight the Never-Ending Witch Hunts from the Radical Left that are destroying our Country!”
In June, Cassidy Hutchinson, a former aide to Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack that Gaetz was one of several members of Congress who sought a “blanket pardon.”
Gaetz has also been attacked by his critics after he said last month that only unattractive women are concerned about abortion rights. When asked what he would say to women offended by those comments, he replied, “Be offended.”
In a July interview on CNN, Marc Short, chief of staff to former Vice President Mike Pence, said that it would be a surprise if Gaetz could still lawfully vote in 2024.
“It’s more likely he’ll be in prison for child sex trafficking by 2024. And I’m actually surprised that Florida law enforcement still allows him to speak to teenage conferences like that. So I’m not too worried about Matt Gaetz, thanks,” Short said, noting the Gaetz’ appearance at a conservative student conference.
Gaetz will face Democrat Rebekah Jones in the battle for Florida’s 1st Congressional District race on November 8.

So Gaetz is being investigated. He has not been convicted AND has not even been charged with any crimes even after a two-year investigation! That rather tells you there is nothing to it. This is a typical Democratic tactic, accuse the republican who is causing the most waves against them of crime to get them out of Congress. Notice that they have not sought any charges against any Democrat who we know did such things as visit Ripstein’s Private Island!

communists, which are the democrat party, will do ANYTHING shameful and disgusting to bring down their opponent. Their satanic radical handbook tells them to ALWAYS accuse the opposition of the very things that they are doing. 2 years of wasted taxpayers money on an investigation with no evidence sounds like another Trump/swamp thing to me. They should start putting REAL criminals in prison (Hillary, Comey, Strzok, Wray, Rosenstein, vinney, Hunter and the ‘Big Guy’, etc., etc.)!!!!

Exactly Everette! You noticed that as well did you. It seems that everything they know is coming out that the Democrats are doing the accuse some Republican of doing. i.e., President Trump with Russian Prostitutes while doing drugs and Russian Collusion when that was Hunter that did that and with the Russian Oglaches, etc.
