In a recent conversation, former Biden administration official Yemisi Egbewole addressed questions about President Joe Biden’s health and cognitive abilities. When asked about her observations during her time in the White House, Egbewole remarked, “Well, I think Joe Biden would be the first person to tell you, he knows he is old.”

Her comments come amidst the release of several books detailing Biden’s health issues. Notably, the book “Original Sin” by CNN host Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson reveals an incident where Biden did not recognize George Clooney, a known supporter.

Egbewole admitted, “At the end of the day, I wasn’t somebody senior enough to be in the room with a lot of decisions.” She expressed interest in the revelations from Tapper and Thompson, noting their sources include some Cabinet secretaries.

When pressed further about whether she noticed any attempts to insulate Biden from his Cabinet, Egbewole reiterated her limited access.

“I’m not in the room with the Cabinet secretaries, unfortunately, my clearance does not reach that high,” she stated, emphasizing her view that “the president showing up for the American people” was her primary observation.

Reports have indicated that Biden was increasingly insulated by aides, even from his Cabinet, as concerns about his health grew. This has sparked discussions about transparency within the Democratic Party.
