WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took credit for sending planeloads of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday.
  • The governor’s office confirmed that the flights were “part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”
  • Texas Governor Greg Abbott has been bussing thousands of migrants to Washington, D.C., New York City and Chicago.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent two full planes of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday — making good on his promise to ship off illegal immigrants to progressive states.

The migrants got off the planes from Florida and could be seen on the tarmac at Martha’s Vineyard Airport on the small Massachusetts island, Fox News Digital reported.

A spokesperson for the Republican governor confirmed in a statement to the outlet that the flights were “part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.”

“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” said Taryn Fenske, the governor’s communication director.

Florida’s state legislators appropriated $12 million from the state budget for the Florida Department of Transportation to implement the immigrant relocation program in April.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s office said the arrivals to Martha’s Vineyard were provided short-term shelter.

“The Baker-Polito Administration is in touch with local officials regarding the arrival of migrants in Martha’s Vineyard,” Terry MacCormack, Baker’s press secretary, wrote in a statement to the outlet. “At this time, short-term shelter services are being provided by local officials, and the Administration will continue to support those efforts.”

State Rep. Dylan Fernandes on Twitter said the community rallied to help the migrants, putting them up in a local church.

The Vineyard is a popular vacation destination beloved by progressive celebrities and politicians like former President Barack Obama, who owns a multimillion-dollar home on the island.

DeSantis had proposed Martha’s Vineyard or Delaware as possible destinations for individuals removed from his state through the immigrant relocation program.

“It is not the responsibility of Floridians to subsidize aliens to reside in our state unlawfully; we did not consent to Biden’s open-borders agenda,” the governor’s office said at the time of the program’s launch.

DeSantis is not the only Republican governor to send off migrants to progressive parts of the country.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has been shipping thousands of people who entered the U.S. illegally to Washington, D.C., New York City and Chicago. Arizona has also sent busloads of migrants to Washington.

Think about 500-1000 more should be sent to Martha’s Vineyard. Massachusetts probably is a sanctuary state. Let them see what Florida, Texas and Arizona go through

Good for all of them on our southern border that should not have to deal with the democRATS vote buying. The democRATS will try to get anybody, illegal aliens, criminals, dead people, anybody that has been alive or dead for the last one hundred years to vote for their corruption. The sanctuary states ARE the problem, let them deal with it.I live in illinois,a sick sanctuary state,I never in all of my years thought that illinois would turn into the sorry sick, corrupt state that it is.Almost all of downstate illinois are totally fed up with”bull exhaust”that the democRATS led by herr pritzger are doing to destroy our state. Its time to move on,to a non corrupt state.

Oh it’s okay for us to deal with this situation, but it’s not okay for those who created this disaster to have to deal with it. On top of that they start their pathetic rhetoric of kidnapping, racist, child abuse BS. Did they say that when this horrible administration was bussing and flying illegals in the middle of the night to different locations, dropping them off around the country? No! Well guess what, deal with it. I hope they continue sending them to blue states, you created the problem, you deal with it.
