US Faces Backlash as Iran Targets Bases in Retaliatory Attacks

President Donald Trump saluted each transfer case during the 32-minute ceremony starting at 3:09 p.m. EST.

U.S. and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28 against Iran to eliminate threats and halt nuclear weapons development.

Trump announced the strikes, warning of potential American losses in the noble mission for America’s future.

“The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties. That often happens in war, but we’re doing this not for now — we’re doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission.”

Operation Epic Fury targeted thousands of sites, described as one of history’s largest military offensives.

Iran retaliated by striking U.S. bases, civilians, tourism, and energy infrastructure across Gulf states, killing the six and injuring 18 others.

The fallen: Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35, Winter Haven, Fla.; Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42, Bellevue, Neb.; Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, White Bear Lake, Minn.; Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20, West Des Moines, Iowa; Maj. Jeffrey R. O’Brien, 45, Indianola, Iowa; Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, 54, Sacramento, Calif.

“They’re great people,” Trump said.

Trump arrived from Shield of the Americas Summit, greeted by base commanders, joined by VP JD Vance, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and others honoring traditional American valor.
