Dershowitz’s Controversial Claim on Epstein Client List

Clear Facts
- Alan Dershowitz claims he has seen Jeffrey Epstein’s full client list but is bound by confidentiality rules from disclosing any names.
- Despite Dershowitz’s claims, FBI and Justice Department memos state that no such list exists and rule out foul play in Epstein’s 2019 death.
- Virginia Giuffre, who accused Dershowitz of sexual misconduct, later acknowledged she might have mistakenly identified him, and both parties resolved their lawsuits without damages.
In a recent revelation, Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz has stirred controversy by asserting he has seen the complete client list of Jeffrey Epstein. However, he emphasized that confidentiality rules prevent him from revealing any names.
“But I’m bound by confidentiality — from a judge and cases — and I can’t disclose what I know,” Dershowitz stated.
This statement comes amid newly released memos from the FBI and Justice Department, which assert that no such list exists and dismiss any foul play in Epstein’s 2019 death.
Dershowitz has alleged that significant documents related to the Epstein case are being “deliberately, willfully suppressed” to shield certain individuals. He claims knowledge of both the identities involved and the officials responsible for the suppression.
When questioned about whether these individuals were politicians or business leaders, Dershowitz responded, “They’re everything.” He further suggested that some alleged victims in the files might have been perpetrators themselves, criticizing judges for protecting false accusers from scrutiny.
“If the accusation is allowed out, so should the material that diminishes the credibility of the accuser,” he argued, advocating for “total transparency” without any redactions. Dershowitz also mentioned that he has waived any privacy rights over his own records, asserting, “I know I haven’t touched a woman other than my wife from the day I met Jeffrey Epstein.”
Reflecting on his own legal battles, Dershowitz remarked, “Remember I was accused falsely and ultimately I was completely cleared.” Virginia Giuffre, who was trafficked by Epstein as a minor, had accused Dershowitz in 2014 of engaging in sexual activities with her when she was underage. This led to a series of legal actions between them, which concluded in 2022 with no damages awarded to either side.
Giuffre later admitted she might have “made a mistake” in identifying Dershowitz as one of her abusers. In a joint court statement, she expressed, “I have long believed that I was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to Alan Dershowitz. However, I was very young at the time, it was a very stressful and traumatic environment. I now recognize I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr. Dershowitz.”
This admission marked the conclusion of a prolonged legal dispute and became a pivotal part of Dershowitz’s public defense. He emphasized, “Ultimately I was completely cleared — the woman admitted that she may have mistook me for somebody else and withdrew all of her lawsuits.” Tragically, Giuffre passed away by suicide on April 11 at the age of 41, as confirmed by her family.

This article is incorrect. The memo does not say no list exists. It says This systematic review revealed no incriminating “client list.” That is directly copied from the memo. If you’re going to report on something, please use the facts.
