House Democrats Face Public Opposition Over SAVE Act Resistance

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, scheduled for a vote in the House of Representatives the week of July 15, is meeting resistance from House Democrats. The proposed legislation, if passed, would require state election officials to confirm the American citizenship of applicants prior to providing them with voter registration forms. House Democrats are bracing for a substantial battle against the bill.
Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) supports the SAVE Act, stating it’s vital for shielding America’s electoral system from foreign meddling. The bill would demand proof of American citizenship, like a passport or birth certificate, from individuals registering for federal elections.
“Noncitizen voting is a threat to election integrity,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) mentioned in a policy brief on the SAVE Act. He went on to elaborate:
“Congress needs to pass the SAVE Act to seal the loopholes enabling noncitizen voting, bolster election security, minimize the risk of foreign election tampering, and restore Americans’ faith in U.S. elections. [Emphasis added]”
On the other hand, House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) is encouraging her Democratic colleagues to vote against the SAVE Act. This puts added strain on those Democrats from swing districts that previously supported former President Donald Trump and who are now in the midst of challenging reelection campaigns.
Intriguingly, the majority of the American public seem to favor the requirement of proof of citizenship for voting, as per recent polling data. A YouGov poll conducted in July 2022 indicated that a resounding majority of Americans—65%—support the requirement of proof of citizenship to vote in elections. This includes 48% of Democrats, 62% of swing voters, and an overwhelming 88% of Republicans. Less than a quarter of Americans—25%—are against the requirement.

Yes, We need Voter ID. Why would ANY DEMOCRAT oppose Voter ID. If they are Proud Citizens, surely they wouldn’t mind a little inconvenience to provide this Proof. After All, many have given their Lives,Their Fortunes and Their Sacred Honor for US to be able to Vote for Democracy and Freedom. Those who seem to think this is to much trouble DON’T DESERVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE ANYWAY!!!!!

Anyone against this Save Act should listen to the people. Proof of citizenship should be mandatory. With the southern border wide open, there is to much risk of non-citizens voting. Proof of citizenship should be mandatory.

Why is the Save Act a problem, if you are a non USA citizen or a foreigner you don’t get to vote in a USA election, understand you are not qualified being a non-citizen.
The Demdumbs only want to rig an election and stay in power to destroy America this is their agenda-God forbid it. Stand your ground American citizens and don’t permit any non-citizen to vote. As for showing my identification to vote being a citizen it is not a problem and I feel the same way about felons. Their opportunity to vote was lost with the crime they committed that must be proven by law.

When I voted last time, I was asked for my name and address which I gave. The woman then proceeded to hand me a ballot. I asked, “Is that all – don’t you want to see an ID? Reply was, “NO”. As I thought about it later, I realized that anyone could have presented herself and given my asked for information and it would have been accepted. Ridiculous!!! Voter ID with the way things are now is not debatable. It’s an absolute necessary to have honest voting.

No illegal should be allowed to vote. Only those registered to vote and are American citizens have the right to vote in our elections. The Democrats are trying to pull a fast one to win the election. It’s a no-brainer – only Americans citizens can vote in our Elections.
