Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Leiter delivered a blunt warning after Iran’s weekend ballistic missile barrage against regional targets and a Western military base.

The strikes caused mass casualties in Israel, prompting a vow to continue military operations until the Iranian regime is defeated.

“The response is going to be to continue with this campaign until we bring this regime to its knees,” Leiter stated.

Leiter emphasized that the attack on Diego Garcia, located over 2,000 miles from Iran, shows the regime has been deceptive about its long-range capabilities.

He noted that while Iran previously denied possessing intercontinental ballistic missiles, it has now demonstrated both the hardware and the intent to use it.

“The Iranian regime lie. These are murderers who lie. It shouldn’t surprise us — and they said they don’t have intercontinental ballistic missiles. Well, now they prove that they do have them. Not only do they have them; they’re willing to shoot them,” the ambassador said.

The ambassador urged Western leaders to consider the existential threat posed by a regime capable of striking major global cities.

He warned that if these missiles were eventually tipped with nuclear warheads, the safety of the entire world would be at stake.

“That’s what they’re planning to do. Now, imagine that those ICBMs are tipped with nuclear warheads, which they were planning to do as well. So, we have to face a very difficult situation,” he said.

Leiter concluded by stating that temporary economic shifts, such as higher gas prices, are a necessary cost to prevent the loss of life at the hands of a malign government.

He maintained that protecting civilization from a regime intent on destruction is the ultimate priority.
