“We reiterate our warning to all parties to refrain from steps that could escalate tensions in the region and lead to the spread of the conflict to a wider area. It is of great importance that all parties act with a sense of responsibility,” he added.
War Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed U.S. awareness of the interception but stated it would not invoke NATO’s Article 5 collective defense.
NATO employs advanced detection via space-based infrared satellites and Turkey’s Kürecik radar to trace missile origins precisely, bolstered by electronic signatures and debris forensics.
