Ohio Sheriff Links Rise in Crime to Biden’s Border Policies

An Ohio sheriff has voiced support for the reinstatement of the death penalty for particular crimes. His stance comes amidst a surge in criminal activities that he believes are linked to a lax border policy. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones drew parallels between President Biden’s border policies and the spike in crimes by illegal immigrants.

“I am angry,” said Jones, expressing the frustration of his local community towards the increasing crime and its financial implications. “People are fed up, and we want something done. And I don’t know that we can stand President Biden being here. And this is just a sample of what he’s done. Lord, help us all.”

In the last three years, Jones stated that around 1,000 illegal immigrants have found themselves behind bars in his county, responsible for about 2,000 crimes, many of which were violent. “We had one guy that was deported eight times. He was in my jail under eight different names, and that’s what we know of,” Jones stated. “He’s here. He’s committed murder while he’s here. And we believe that this isn’t the first time he’s committed murder. And we’ve had people that have been hit with vehicles killed. We’ve had people that have been stabbed. So the crime is increasing.”

The Sheriff cited a few chilling incidents to illustrate the extent of the problem. One such case involved an illegal immigrant who molested a 9-year-old girl, abducted off her bicycle. Another incident saw a paraplegic victim hit and left by an illegal immigrant. To those who argue that homegrown citizens also commit crimes, Jones responded, “I don’t need any extra crime coming from other countries where they empty their prisons out.”

In response to the escalating crime rates, the sheriff revealed that he is currently educating locals in his county on how to use firearms for self-defense. “What would happen if Biden was reelected? I believe our country is in danger. But I’m not the only one. We are training our civilians here how to protect themselves,” he asserted.

Jones also accused President Biden of obstructing the Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials from executing their duties. “They block the federal government,” he claimed. “I am the government, and I’m embarrassed and ashamed of the people that we have in leadership positions.”

He further expressed the widespread dissatisfaction among his constituents, stating, “I keep my ear to the ground and I talk to people. They’re fed up, they’re disgusted, and they’re scared.”

Despite the announcement of executive actions to limit illegal immigrants at the southern border, Jones stated that the massive influx of migrants across the southern border seemed unaffected. “I believe if you murder somebody, the death penalty. I believe if you molest children or hurt children, the death penalty. I think terrorism, the death penalty. Selling drugs to somebody that dies, the death penalty,” he declared, expressing his strong belief in capital punishment.

Jones also expressed grave concern over the drug trafficking problem in Ohio. “Everybody [in Ohio] knows somebody that’s died because of that. And it affects us all. It sends chills down my spine, as I tell you that,” he confided. The sheriff urged the president to act, stating, “Close the borders, get our communities back, let Americans go to work. We got 5,000 people die a year because of these drugs coming in from Mexico.”

Jones concluded by stating his commitment to uphold the law and protect his community. “Am I real soft and fuzzy and cuddly? No, I am not,” said Jones. “I do have a dislike for criminals… Don’t come to this county because you’ll go to prison. You’ll go to jail. That’s my job.”
