  • The Democratic Lawmaker said she anticipates an answer from the Vice President on Thursday about invoking the 25th Amendment.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi demanded President Trump be immediately removed from his post by invoking the 25th Amendment for provoking a violent demonstration at the Capitol on Wednesday to halt the confirmation of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

Pelosi, along with Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., urges the Cabinet and Vice President Mike Pence to discharge Trump from the office right away, saying the president was “a very dangerous person” who did a sedition act.

Pelosi also noted that if Pence will not act on the issue, the House is ready for another Trump impeachment.

On Thursday, Pelosi said the president did an appalling attack on the Americans and the country, just a day after Trump followers stormed the U.S. Capitol and threatened legislators to abandon and take over the area.

Pelosi added that the president deserves to be removed from the office following the act of inciting insurrection he committed, noting that while

Trump only has 13 days remaining in office, any moment can be critical for the country.

The Democratic leader said she expects a response from the Vice President on Thursday about calling upon the 25th Amendment.

Pelosi demanded the resignation of Steven Sund, Capitol Police chief,  and said the House Sergeant at Arms Paul D. Irving had formally quit amidst major security loopholes at the Capitol.

After the resolution filed by Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., to dismiss some Republicans from Congress, Pelosi explained on Thursday that GOP legislators from the Lower House should also be held liable.

Without mentioning names, she condemned House members who endorsed conspiracy theories and challenged the 2020 election outcomes, adding that these Republicans relinquished their oath of office only three days earlier, citing the swearing-in on Jan. 3.

Pelosi also lambasted Trump for mismanaging the COVID-19 pandemic and said he could be the only president in American history who will be impeached twice, remarking he is a danger for both the country and the people.
