TV reporter Judith Retana made headlines after publicly sharing her admiration for Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour during an episode of her show Wake Up Later, Carolina.
Retana admitted she has seen Brind’Amour, who recently celebrated multiple Stanley Cup victories with his team.
“Have I seen the coach Rachel? You know I’ve seen the coach. You know I have my little crush on Rod Brind’Amour,” Retana said in a video that has since been deleted or disabled on social media.
“I respect his wife. I’m sure they have a good thing going there, but I’ll be waiting in the wings in case anything goes awry. I’m no stranger to dating married men.”
Retana further commented on her willingness to accept men with children, stating, “Or men with children. I don’t mind any of that baggage. It’s not really baggage for me, it’s a built-in family.”
Co-host meteorologist Rachel Duensing reportedly tried to steer the conversation away from the topic during the broadcast.
The New York Post reported that a disclaimer was added to the clip clarifying Retana meant previously married men who are divorced or separated.
