“The U.S. Embassy in London notes recent attacks and threats targeting Jewish and American institutions in the United Kingdom and Europe,” the alert stated. “U.S. citizens, particularly those visiting institutions serving Jewish or American interests, should remain alert and exercise increased caution.”

The embassy specifically advised Americans to maintain awareness while visiting tourist areas, expatriate communities, and houses of worship. Officials urged travelers to review their personal security plans and monitor local media for developing threats.

The State Department encouraged concerned citizens to enroll in the Safe Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive real-time travel and security updates.

The security warning comes in response to a troubling pattern of antisemitic violence across Europe. On March 23, arsonists torched four ambulances belonging to a Jewish charity in London. On April 18, attackers targeted the Kenton United Synagogue, also in London. In Amsterdam, an explosion damaged a Jewish school in what Dutch authorities characterized as a deliberate assault on the Jewish community.

While no injuries were reported in these incidents, the coordinated nature of the attacks has raised serious security concerns.

U.K. authorities are now investigating whether Iranian operatives are orchestrating these attacks through hired proxies. According to GB News, investigators are examining potential links between “thugs for hire” and the Iranian regime.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer acknowledged the government’s response to foreign interference in comments to the Jewish Chronicle.

“In relation to malign state actors more generally, proscription, we do need legislation in order to take necessary measures, and that is legislation that we’re bringing forward as soon as we can.”
