The Los Angeles Police Department said Saturday that a man was arrested on Friday night at the Brentwood residence of LeBron James.

James is in his first season with the Philadelphia 76ers after spending the previous eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.

James faced his former Cavaliers team in Cleveland on Friday. The Cavaliers selected him first overall in 2003, and he won a championship with them in 2016 during his second stint with the team.

According to TMZ Sports, security spotted the suspect at roughly 9 p.m. and called 911. He was arrested on suspicion of stalking and later claimed he believed he was James’ son.

The LAPD said to OutKick that the suspect was taken into custody without incident and was booked on charges of felony stalking.

The suspect did not enter the home, TMZ said.

A spokesperson for James did not offer a comment.

James struggled at his former home, scoring just eight points on 3-for-12 shooting, including 0-for-4 from three-point range. Cleveland won 119-95 as James’ Sixers fell to 8-2 on the season.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer is averaging 14.8 points, 7.4 assists, and 6.9 rebounds per game.

James has made another residence in New York and often commutes to and from Philadelphia via helicopter.
