Costco’s Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water Loses its Fizz as Quality Concerns Rise Among Consumers
Clear Facts
- Customers have reported a decline in the quality of Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water, a popular product sold at Costco.
- Many shoppers have found flat cans in the 35-count variety packs, lacking the fizz that is integral to the drink’s appeal.
- This issue isn’t isolated to the sparkling water product alone – other Kirkland Signature items have also faced quality criticisms recently.
The esteemed Kirkland Signature brand, exclusive to warehouse giant Costco, is renowned for its economical pricing on a diverse range of food and beverage items. However, according to recent customer feedback, one of its beverages, Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water, seems to be experiencing a notable decrease in quality.
A disappointed Costco enthusiast took to Reddit to express their disappointment with the brand’s sparkling water. The variety pack, which includes grapefruit, lime, and lemon flavors, is sold in a pack of 35. The customer’s main complaint? The seltzers are lacking in their characteristic fizz.
“Anyone else getting flat cans of Kirkland sparkling waters? Talked to several people and we’re all getting some flat seltzers in 30 packs,” the Reddit user posted.
This doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident but a recurring problem with the product. Numerous shoppers responded to the original post, reporting similar experiences with these private-label beverages.
“Yep! I’ve had at least one dud in every other flat since May-ish,” one commenter responded.
“Yes, been getting 1-2 per case,” another shared.
However, it’s important to note that this quality issue is not uniformly occurring across all Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water packs. Several Reddit users pointed out they’ve only received fizz-less cans on a few occasions or not experienced the issue at all.
“I’ve been buying these for 3-4 years and drink 1-2 daily. I’ve never had a flat can,” a satisfied customer posted.
Despite these mixed reviews, the recurring theme of flat cans in cases of sparkling water indicates this is more than a sporadic problem. As of yet, Costco has not issued a response to the complaints regarding its Kirkland Signature Sparkling Water.
This isn’t the only Kirkland product that’s drawn criticism for quality issues recently. The Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks have also come under scrutiny, with customers complaining about blood spots and textural problems.
“I get random nuggs that have hard spots in them. It’s not cartilage either it’s just unnaturally rubbery,” a member lamented on Reddit.
A recent addition to the Kirkland Signature line, the Tandoori Chicken Wraps, has also been criticized by shoppers. From price to a lack of flavor and textural issues, the product has faced significant backlash.
“It’s nowhere near the intense tandoori flavor I typically get from tandoori chicken. The chicken itself is a bunch of tiny, mushy pieces with barely any texture,” a Redditor penned in their critique.
