During the confirmation hearing for Pete Hegseth’s nomination as secretary of defense, the proceedings were interrupted by protesters. These disruptions led to action from the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Chairman Roger Wicker addressed the situation firmly.
“The Capitol Police are going to remove immediately individuals that are disrupting the hearing,” he stated.
Wicker emphasized that the committee would not tolerate such interruptions, noting a pattern of disruption.
Hegseth, who was responding to questions about his nomination, faced opposition due to his public statements on military matters.
The hearing was marked by multiple interruptions as demonstrators expressed their disapproval.
Among the protesters were members of the activist group CodePink. They were vocal in their opposition, advocating against what they referred to as a “crusade” and defending Palestinian rights.
The presence of CodePink highlighted the broader concerns some activists have regarding military policies and international relations.

I think you’ve got a lot of distracting CRAP all over your pages… makes one feel that it’s not worth using your website for news!

Why were they not removed and escorted out of the building! If shoe was on the other foot they would not be allowed inside the building

Take it to the bank: Democrats ALLOWED (probably encouraged) the protesters on the floor to cause disruption and show their disapproval. Democrats are traitors to our country. They seriously want to destroy America. And they are really PO’d that Trump is back in power.

I believe that sometimes free speech is a little too broad. Protestors against the US should be, at best, deported. I personally would be much harsher.

Why do you have a photo of someone other than Mr . Hegseth??? What an insult! Anything for a click. This is not a professional organization.
