  • Trump praised Bondi’s past work as Florida’s attorney general and her role in combating drug abuse.

In a significant development, President-elect Trump has named Pam Bondi, the former attorney general of Florida, as his choice for the next U.S. attorney general. This announcement comes on the heels of Matt Gaetz’s decision to step down from consideration for the position, citing the “distraction” caused by allegations against him.

Trump expressed his confidence in Bondi’s capabilities, highlighting her extensive experience and dedication to public safety.

“Pam was a prosecutor for nearly 20 years, where she was very tough on Violent Criminals, and made the streets safe for Florida Families,” he stated.

Her tenure as Florida’s first female attorney general was marked by significant efforts to combat drug trafficking and reduce fentanyl overdose deaths. Trump acknowledged her contributions by noting, “She did such an incredible job, that I asked her to serve on our Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission during my first Term — We saved many lives!”

The president-elect emphasized his intention to redirect the Department of Justice’s focus under Bondi’s leadership.

“For too long, the partisan Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans – Not anymore. Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again,” Trump continued.

He expressed his personal admiration for Bondi, stating, “I have known Pam for many years — She is smart and tough, and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter, who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!”

Matt Gaetz, who had previously been in the running for the position, expressed his support for Bondi’s nomination, describing her as “a stellar selection” and praising her as “a proven litigator, an inspiring leader and a champion for all Americans.”

Gaetz also noted their past collaboration, stating, “Pam and I worked closely together when she was Florida’s Attorney General and I chaired Criminal Justice in the state house.”

With Bondi’s nomination, Trump aims to bring about necessary reforms within the Department of Justice, aligning it with his vision of prioritizing American safety and justice.

I support Republican policies, and hink Trump is the right man for the job, but I have to say: In light of past scandals, perhaps “Taps” is not the best choice of words here.

My financial advisor suggested I invest in large scale document shredders. Apparently DOJ, FBI, FEMA, CIA, etc are working their shredders overtime before Mr Trump takes the Presidental Oath of Office.
