  • Popovich, who is of Ukrainian descent, served a tour during the American war in Afghanistan.
  • He warned anyone who wishes to join the fight to “think twice,” because Russians can do more damage.

Miro Popovich, a U.S. Army veteran of Ukrainian descent, volunteered to fight for Ukraine against the Russian invasion. During an appearance on CNN’s “New Day,” Popovich said that the war in Ukraine has proven to be “more dangerous than Afghanistan.”

Popovich told host Jim Sciutto that the Russian forces have completely underestimated Ukraine’s resolve when they started their invasion two months ago.

Popovich remarked, “So they came here and they expect to get it done in three or four days. Well, you know what? I told you that there are a lot of civilian casualties outside of Kyiv, there are also a lot of Russian casualties as well.”

He continued, “Which for us is a good thing to see our military completely wipe them off. I tell you honestly, I am surprised. I was not … I did not think that it’s our military is so capable. But you know, we showed resilience, we showed that we are strong and capable.”

Popovich served a tour during the American war in Afghanistan. He was in college before joining the Ukrainian forces to fight against the Russian invasion.

Popovich stated, “It’s more dangerous than Afghanistan was because right here we have to deal with their artillery, with their tanks, with their missiles. It’s — it can become pretty hard and pretty dangerous here.”

Americans who wish to volunteer in the defense of Ukraine have been warned by the State Department that they may face capture by Russian forces and possible death.

Popovich also warned anyone who wishes to join the fight to “think twice,” because “there is a big chance that you can get damage, you can get killed, or you can get captured.”

Still, he thanked anyone who would join the fight even with all that in mind.

Ukraine and its Western allies have called for Russia to be investigated for engaging in war crimes, including the killing and rape of civilians. The war has also turned into a humanitarian crisis after five million residents in Ukraine were forced to flee the country since the war started on Feb. 24.

Weeks ago on fear of nuclear threat from ,Putin ,NATO and US froze as Ukraine soldiers fought back Russian soldiers and artillery. Now that other damaging Domestic news is rising US is throwing support to Ukraine. With fair weather friends like NATO and US ,Ukraine could use better.

How is Putin different from Saddam? We went after Saddam when he invaded Kuwait why not treat Putin the same?

OBVIOUSLY the trillions the DOD has spent, many over and above what the Russians spend, was wasted.

One doesn’t need an ARMY Vet, to say it’s more dangerous than Afghanistan. Reads like a flyer to keep people from going to fight for the Ukraine. That should be an individuals choice. If one wants to go than go. In the war with Afghanistan, the Taliban didn’t have cruise missiles, artillery, fighter jets and attack helicopters to throw at American troops, there’s the difference. As for Putin I will say this. Putin wants to de-nazify Ukraine. Putin should take a good hard look in the mirror. Not only is Putin trying to pick up where his mentor Stalin left off when it came to the Ukraine, Stalin tried to starve Ukraine out. Putin is the 2nd coming of Hitler. What Putin is doing to the Ukraine, is exactly what Hitler did to Poland. Putin has terminal cancer? If so, then this is Putin’s last hurrah, like the charge of the Light Brigade. History will not look favorably upon Putin. Putin will be remembered as a dictator and War Criminal.

By tip toeing around Putin, fearing a nuclear war, limp- wrist Biden shows how cowardly he is. He “ talks tough” but doesn’ have the cojones to back it up! His belligerence is telling, he is a school yard bully, expects every one else to back him up. If Trump was still in office( as he should be) this b.s. would not be going on! He would have warned Putin off of attacking the Ukraine. Biden is like his mentor Obama, who let Putin walk in and take over Crimea, and did NOTHING to stop him! Coward, both of them! All they can do is shoot their mouths off, try to sound “ bad arse”, and get laughed at! Truly sad! They both need to be gone!
