  • President Donald Trump is considering moving the White House press corps to a different location to free up badly needed space in the current briefing room.
  • Trump has repeatedly denied any plans to build a swimming pool and called reports suggesting otherwise “Fake News.”
  • The president has personally paid for improvements to the White House, including two massive American flags, and has highlighted ongoing renovations during recent public appearances.

President Donald Trump is weighing a major change to the White House press operation that could send reporters packing from their longtime briefing room.

The president says the move would create room for more practical uses of the space. He made the remarks in a Truth Social post after denying any interest in restoring the old indoor swimming pool beneath the briefing room.

“I am not building a swimming pool in the White House Briefing Room, and never had any intention of doing so,” Trump wrote. “I am thinking about moving the Press, and putting them in a different location, but I will use that location for very badly needed space.”

Trump also shot down speculation in a separate post, saying he would never do “such a stupid thing” as bring back the pool.

“Although I may move the Fake News to a less obnoxious location, the old swimming pool will never be brought back,” he stated.

The president has stressed that the building requires serious upgrades and has pointed to recent improvements as proof his administration is focused on practical needs.

“We are building some beautiful things,” Trump said during a Florida rally, highlighting ongoing renovations at the White House.

He also paid out of pocket for two 88-foot American flags that now fly at the executive mansion, underscoring his commitment to restoring the property without burdening taxpayers.
