  • A memory card containing 388 previously uncounted votes has been discovered in Seminole County, Georgia.
  • The newly counted ballots shifted House District 154 from Democrat to Republican control.
  • Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has opened an investigation into the discovery.

Georgia Democrats celebrated control of the state House following the November elections. A single memory card now threatens to shrink that majority to just one seat.

The card was found in Seminole County and contained approximately 388 Election Day votes that had never been tallied. Those ballots flipped the outcome in House District 154, electing Republican Gerald Greene.

Democrats currently hold a narrow advantage in the chamber. The revised count leaves them with only a single-seat cushion.

Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State, confirmed the investigation.

“We are looking into how these votes were overlooked and ensuring the integrity of the count.”

Election officials are reviewing procedures to determine why the memory card was missed during the initial tabulation.

The discovery highlights ongoing concerns about election administration accuracy in Georgia. Republican lawmakers have long warned about vulnerabilities in vote counting systems.

Additional counties are now conducting their own reviews of tabulation equipment and memory cards. State officials say the process must be completed before final certification.
