Epstein’s Lavish Gifts to Top Obama Lawyer Revealed

Clear Facts
- Jeffrey Epstein bought expensive gifts and funded luxury experiences for Kathryn Ruemmler between 2014 and 2019.

Recently unsealed records reveal former Obama White House Counsel and current Goldman Sachs general counsel Kathryn Ruemmler received high-value gifts and support with personal expenses from Jeffrey Epstein. The transactions, documented through emails and receipts, took place over several years and included designer bags, spa days, and trips arranged by Epstein.
Among the items, Epstein purchased a $9,350 Hermes bag and a $6,790 Fendi set for Ruemmler while arranging services such as facials, haircuts, and luxurious experiences at high-end establishments.
A court filing connected to a civil lawsuit cited Ruemmler as having offered advice to Epstein on legal issues, such as maintaining his 2008 non-prosecution agreement and guiding public statements. Ruemmler has stated, “I did not represent him and was not compensated by him.”
“I was one of a number of lawyers Epstein informally reached out to for advice,” Ruemmler said in December.
Additional emails show Ruemmler sought Epstein’s opinion on major career moves, including whether to accept a top government role, as well as minor matters like travel arrangements.
Goldman Sachs described Epstein’s behavior as, “Epstein’s MO was to do unsolicited favors for and provide unsolicited gifts to his many business contacts.”
In August 2016, Epstein told an associate, “She won her case and needs some pampering,” before organizing a spa day for Ruemmler.
Ruemmler replied, “Thank you again!!” and “And thanks to Uncle Jeffrey!” after a spa arrangement on Epstein’s account.
Epstein paid for other services, such as a $658 hair appointment in March 2016, and instructed associates that “kathy should not spend money there” regarding ongoing facials.
On Christmas 2015, Epstein arranged a “first class trip” to Geneva for Ruemmler, with Ruemmler expressing, “I adore him. It’s like having another older brother!”
She shared that she “never feel[s] as if I can return the kindness adequately.”
Records also show Ruemmler missed certain trips arranged for her by Epstein, as documented in later emails.
Goldman Sachs and Ruemmler did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding these matters.
