Former cybersecurity chief, Chris Krebs, is planning to take into the courts the comments made by one of the campaign lawyers of President Donald Trump. In an interview with NBC News on Tuesday, Krebs said that the remarks made by Trump’s attorney, Joe diGenova, is a ground for filing charges, adding that the U.S is a nation of laws, and his lawyers are outstanding in handling such cases.

Trump sacked Krebs from his job as Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency director on November 17, following the agency’s defiance of the president’s allegations of election fraud, adding that 2020 polls were the most secured in the history of the U.S.

On Monday, during the episode of the “Howie Carr Show,” DiGenova, who works on Trump’s legal team contesting the poll results, lambasted the former election security chair. He said that Kebs was a moron, adding that those who believe the election had no issues should be abducted and shot.

Savannah Guthrie, the NBC “Today” host, asked Kebs if he wishes to file legal actions against diGenova’s comments, and he answered that his team is considering the available legal options.

Kebs also said he wouldn’t allow diGenova to know his response, adding that the lawyer’s camp should realize that things are coming their way.

DiGenova explained to CNN through a statement that his comments were meant to be a sarcastic joke. He explained that those who could hear the Howie Carr Show would know that he was obviously joking. He added that he doesn’t want any harm against Mr. Krebs, describing his remark was just an exaggeration during a political discussion.

DiGenova attended a news briefing on November 19 together with Trump’s other lawyers, Jenna Ellis and Rudy Giuliani, who remained to resolutely support the president’s unfounded claims of election fraud.

Following several failures on cases filed in the courts, Trump’s counsels went to Pennsylvania and Arizona to try reversing the election outcomes through their Republican-led state legislatures.

Battleground states such as Nevada, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Pennsylvania have already confirmed the win of 46th President-elect Joe Biden.
