Mary Trump describes her uncle as ‘utterly incapable’ and calls for the president to ‘Resign’ [Video]

President Donald Trump’s niece, Mary L. Trump, said during an ABC News interview on Tuesday that her uncle should resign.

Mary granted the interview following the publication of her latest book detailing her experiences with the president and his family.

“He is utterly incapable of leading this country,” Mary told ABC host George Stephanopoulos. “And it’s dangerous to allow him to do so, based on what I’ve seen my entire adult life.”

When Stephanopoulos asked Mary what she would say to the president now, she said “Resign.”

The full episode featuring Mary Trump was aired on Good Morning America on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, her highly-divisive book, “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man,” was published following a controversial court battle. Robert Trump,  the president’s younger brother, had tried to stop the book’s release by filing for a temporary restraining a month ago, claiming the contents of the book were a violation of a 2001 disclosure deal she signed after a family estate court battle ended.

Mary’s father was Fred Trump Jr., who passed away in 1981.

A judge hearing the case, Hall Greenwald,  though, overruled the claim earlier this month and said that Simon & Schuster could proceed with the publication and will not be in conflict with the terms of the agreement. The judge also noted that tons of copies had already been published and dispatched.

A New York Supreme Court judge also echoed the same ruling, saying on Monday that Mary Trump has the liberty to talk about the book, noting that the earlier nondisclosure deal she was a part of was will not suffice to quiet her.

Mary Trump claimed in her book that the president sacked and ridiculed his father, Fred Trump Sr., during the time when he had Alzheimer’s disease.

“If he is afforded a second term, it would be the end of American democracy,” Mary Trump writes at one point.

Mary told Stephanopoulos that Americans already made a mistake once, and the people have a chance to correct that by not voting Trump again.

The Trump administration has refuted the contents of the book, saying the book only serves the author’s interest, financial gains included.
