Report Reveals Biden’s Shocking Time Away From the White House

President Joe Biden has raised eyebrows with his frequent absences from the Oval Office during his final year in office. Reports reveal that Biden spent nearly a quarter of 2024 away from the White House, choosing to work remotely from Delaware, Camp David, and other vacation destinations.

In total, Biden was out of the office for 89 full or partial days, excluding foreign trips for official business. Notably, after withdrawing from the presidential race, he spent 46 days in locations such as Delaware, Camp David, St. Croix, Nantucket, and California from August onward.

The president’s current trip to St. Croix is included in this count, though the White House has not disclosed when it will conclude. Last year, Biden remained there until the beginning of the following year.

Interestingly, the tally does not account for a trip to Camp David where Biden prepared for the first presidential debate, nor his time in Delaware recovering from COVID-19, during which he announced his withdrawal from the race via social media.

August was a particularly busy month for Biden’s travels, with 21 days spent away from Washington. This included 14 days in Delaware, six days at a private residence in California, and a day at Camp David. Throughout the year, Biden made 27 trips to Delaware alone.

During his annual Nantucket visit, Biden stayed at a $34 million residence. Despite these absences, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates defended the president’s work ethic.

“It’s a little ironic to be fleshing this out for an internet-based outlet, but commanders-in-chief have been able to perform the full range of their duties from anywhere in the world for decades,” Bates stated, highlighting Biden’s remote work accomplishments.

Bates further emphasized that Biden works “around the clock” and has taken “few” vacation days, pointing to a list of achievements as proof. While away, Biden often engaged in calls and meetings, and occasionally addressed the press.

Biden’s time away from the office has decreased compared to previous years. In 2022, he spent nearly 40% of the year in Delaware and other vacation spots, while 2023 saw him away 37% of the time. Reports indicate that Biden has spent 570 days of his presidency on vacation, nearly 40% of his term.

For comparison, former President George W. Bush took 490 days at his Texas ranch over two terms, and Ronald Reagan spent 349 days at his California ranch during his presidency. Donald Trump, during his first term, spent 26% of his presidency on personal trips away from the White House.
