The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles found himself in an unexpected situation during what should have been a triumphant moment. After pulling off a hard-fought victory against the favored Dallas Cowboys, the team’s celebration took an unfortunate turn.

Bowles was seen grimacing in pain on the sideline, down on one knee as the final seconds ticked away. The scene raised immediate concern among players and staff.

“He will be OK moving forward,” according to the report from ESPN.

The injury occurred during the Buccaneers’ celebration after they intercepted Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to help seal the 24-16 win. For a 62-year-old coach, taking a helmet to the stomach was an unfortunate consequence of the team’s excitement.

This victory marked the Buccaneers’ first win of the season after starting 0-4. They entered the game as heavy underdogs playing on a short week with an undrafted rookie quarterback making just his second career start.

The Bucs dominated the game statistically, holding the ball for more than 39 minutes and forcing three turnovers. They outgained the Cowboys by more than 50 yards in total offense.

“Jalon Daniels completed 19 of his 25 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown,” the report detailed.

Running back Bucky Irving delivered an outstanding performance, rushing for 165 yards on 21 carries with a rushing touchdown while also catching two passes for 10 yards and a receiving touchdown.

The win provides much-needed momentum for the Buccaneers after losing their first four games by a combined 20 points. Bowles will look to build on this positive result when his team faces the Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday.
