DeSantis’ Migrants Win U-Visa Approval after Crime Victim Claims

Certain migrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard in 2022 have had their applications for U-visas approved. These visas were granted based on the migrants’ claims of falling victim to crime. Florida’s Republican Governor, Ron DeSantis, had transported these individuals.
In a recent report, three out of the 49 migrants relocated from San Antonio, Texas, to Florida, and then to Martha’s Vineyard, have been granted a “bona fide determination.” This means they are qualified for a U-visa, although they haven’t received it yet.
The U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services describes U-visas as primarily “set aside for victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and are helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity.”
In this specific scenario, the migrants cooperated with an investigation into whether they had been manipulated or forced to board the flights. After a month-long investigation, it was concluded that the migrants had been “lured … under false pretenses” to board the planes. They were further stated to be “unceremoniously stranded” upon their arrival in Martha’s Vineyard.
“DeSantis has repeatedly denied any coercion, saying that all migrants boarded the flights ‘voluntarily.’”
The approval of official U-visas could take up to a decade due to an annual issuance limit of 10,000 set by Congress. However, “bona fide determinations” safeguard recipients from deportation until their visas are issued. These determinations also permit them to work legally in the United States during this waiting period. Furthermore, U-visas place recipients on a path to obtain green cards.
Hemanth C. Gundavaram, co-founder and director of the Immigrant Justice Clinic at Northeastern University School of Law, explained the intention behind this process. The goal was to help correct for “a failure in our system,” he pointed out.
In order to qualify for U-visas, migrants must be proven crime victims and assist either law enforcement or the government in any subsequent investigation.
Gundavaram stated, “This is a harm reduction provision. If you didn’t have these protections, someone would have to stay here, worry about deportation, and not be able to make a living.”

At some point the people will drag the government out of office and deport them for Treason! As they help illegals and crap on Americans! Would be cheaper to deport the Democrats and then use their money and property to send their illegals home! Maybe their illegals will support them in their country!
