The FBI has recently published updated photos of seven individuals who are suspects concerning the assault on Michael Fanone, a DC Metropolitan police officer during the violence that broke out at the US Capitol.

In a recent interview, the 40-year-old Fanone, 40, told CNN that he was posted in a constricted passage when the protestors forcefully pulled him out of the building, crushed him to the ground, and took out his gear.

Fanone, who has been serving in the police force for 20 years,  was also mugged and tased. The officer said he recalled being terrified to lose his life as he heard some of the mob wanted to end him using his weapon.

He told the outlet that he remembered,

“some guys started getting ahold of my gun and they were screaming out, ‘Kill him with his own gun.”

The officer, who is also a father of four,  said he had no power over the rioters and felt there’s a need to use lethal force, but also thought he’d die if he would.

Fanone also noted that some rioters intervened to safeguard him until back up arrived. He remembered thanking those who helped him but criticizing them at the same time for storming the Capitol.

Daniel Hodges, a colleague at the Metropolitan Police, was also mugged and was seen on footage being pressed in a doorway by pro-Trump protesters inside the building.

Together with assaulting law enforcement officers, the seven suspects identified in the FBI’s post are charged with illegal entry into the Capitol.

The FBI also seeks the help of the public and advises that anyone that can provide information to get in touch with the FBI’s toll-free line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
