Hezbollah’s Missile Site Destruction Sparks Ceasefire Tensions
Clear Facts
- Israel’s military claims to have destroyed Hezbollah’s largest precision-guided missiles manufacturing site.
- The ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israeli forces is in its third day, with a 60-day initial phase for troop withdrawal from south Lebanon.
- Hezbollah vows to continue resisting Israeli attacks, asserting its role in defending Lebanon.
In a significant development, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the destruction of what they describe as Hezbollah’s “largest precision-guided missiles manufacturing site.” This site, located near the Syria-Lebanon border, was reportedly 1.4 kilometers wide and 70 meters underground.
The IDF emphasized that the site was a critical component of Hezbollah’s arsenal, producing precision-guided and surface-to-surface missiles.
As both sides entered a ceasefire agreement, now in its third day, the initial phase requires Hezbollah and Israeli forces to withdraw from south Lebanon while the Lebanese military takes over.
Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah expressed the group’s commitment to cooperating with the army to implement the ceasefire. However, he questioned the military’s ability to defend Lebanon against Israeli aggression.
“When Israel attacks our country, we will fight and resist. This is our right,” Fadlallah stated, reinforcing Hezbollah’s stance.
Lebanon has been grappling with a financial crisis since 2019, leading to challenges within its military forces. Despite this, the ceasefire agreement aims to bolster Lebanon’s military presence by recruiting and deploying an additional 10,000 troops south of the Litani River.
The international community pledged $1 billion in aid to Lebanon, including $800 million for humanitarian assistance and $200 million for military support. However, aid groups report that these funds have yet to be delivered.
Meanwhile, the IDF continues to caution Lebanese residents to avoid the border region where Israeli troops remain active. IDF Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee warned, “Anyone who moves south of this line — exposes himself to danger,” urging residents to stay clear of the area until further notice.

I find it interesting that the article does not state that Hezbollah had violated the agreement twice within 12 hours of the ceasefire.

Oooogh! When Israel attacks us we will resist, it is our right. What about Israel’s rights. Hezbollah/Hama’s cowardly attack on Israel a year ago is what precipitated Israel’s responses. Lebanon and Syria both acted as safe haven sites for Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists that murdered 1,200 Israeli citizens. Now these cowards want a cease fire so they can regroup. I would give them nothing because it has been Hezbollah and Hamas that has started everything and cry foul when they get what they deserve.
