The Home Front Command distributed life-saving instructions across various regions, urging people to enter protected spaces upon hearing sirens and to stay there until further notice. Israelis were also advised not to film or photograph during the attack and to avoid windows to minimize risk from nearby missile impacts.

Earlier warnings from the U.S. indicated a potential Iranian attack. This follows a similar incident in April when Iran launched nearly 300 missiles and drones at Israel, most of which were intercepted by Israeli air defenses and those of regional American allies.

In a recent update, it was reported that Iran targeted Israel’s nuclear reactor in Dimona, located in the Negev desert. The attack was described as ongoing, and the public was advised to stay in protected spaces. The Aerial Defense Array was actively identifying and intercepting missile launches.

It was reported that Iran’s attack was in retaliation for the deaths of key figures: Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, and senior Hezbollah official Abbas Nilfroshan.

Unconfirmed social media reports suggested that around 400 missiles had been launched, with the majority intercepted and only two possibly hitting Israeli territory.

Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari later updated the public at approximately 8:30 p.m. local time, stating that the Iranian attack had concluded with no injuries or deaths reported. He emphasized the need for continued caution.

He also mentioned that Israel would respond to Iran “in the place and the time we determine. … We have plans.”

The IDF revised their estimate, indicating that about 180 missiles were launched, with most intercepted and minimal damage reported. Initial reports had suggested a higher number of missiles.
