The IDF spokesperson highlighted the strategic importance of the mission, stating, “This facility was designed to manufacture hundreds of strategic missiles per year from start to finish for Hezbollah to use in their aerial attacks on Israel.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the operation, saying, “I salute our heroic fighters for the daring and successful operation deep in Syria.”

This mission comes at a time when Israel faces intensified threats from Iran and its allies, following the devastating Hamas invasion in October 2023. The raid is seen as a significant step in countering these threats and safeguarding Israel’s security.

Amit Segal, chief political analyst, provided insight into the broader implications of the operation. “The Israeli perspective for years was that Iran operates as an octopus in the Middle East,” he explained.
