Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart raised concerns about foul play regarding McCasland.
“We have to ask, now, [about] the possibility of foul play — is there somebody who has interceded to take the general out of the picture?”
Law enforcement officials are currently investigating potential connections between the disappearance of McCasland and Monica Reza.
Other recent losses include Novartis scientist Jason Thomas, whose body was recovered from a lake months after his sudden disappearance.
While some family members and officials suggest personal struggles or accidents, the concentration of these incidents within the scientific community continues to fuel national security concerns.
